Rake’s Progress?

It now appears that the only “broadband” in the village of Hambleden, under test by BT’s Chairman, is none other than the bad BET expertly demolished by Cyberdoyle in September 2009.

Quite what innovation might require “testing” as regards making a copper wire thicker and therefore more able to carry signals, by connecting two lines physically together in parallel, would be fascinating to hear, as Georg Ohm had it covered back in 1820

Interesting that this story got leaked to Telegraph in time for the BT BET registration website going live isn’t it? Nothing like free publicity. Now all the suckers will sign up to it, and BT can extend the life of their obsolete victorian phone copper network for another decade instead of investing in fibre.
Very clever BT. BET you are feeling proud of yourselves for pulling another fast one on the media. Be sure your sins will catch you out. This country needs some investment in infrastructure, not your £9.4 billion pension deficit.

    Interesting…

Hambleden is a village very close to me & a number of the residents there have contacted me to ask if the community project I am trying to launch in my area could be ‘extended’ to cover them as well! Actually no reason why not, it would be interesting to deliver a broadband service to the BT Chairman!
